Maria Sicilia.
She/Her
Sound Practitioner & Musician
Maria is a Certified Sound Practitioner with over a decade of experience in the field of music and sound therapy in clinical and non-clinical settings.
Her rich history and love of music extends back to classical music training under the Royal Conservatory of Music in her early years. She went on to receive a BA in Psychology as well as a Post Graduate Certification in Music and Play Therapy. She practiced as a music and play therapist for young children with Autism for over 8 years.
Her journey of working with the therapeutic elements of sound deepened with a personal health crisis in which music and frequency became key components in her own healing journey. Determined to share her experience and help others she went on to expand her knowledge, studying Himalayan Singing Bowls and other healing instruments under renowned sound Practitioner and Founder of IITES (Sound Research Institute of Mexico) Siddha Sandra.
Maria has been practicing as a Sound Practitioner since her certification in the fall of 2019. She works in both in clinical and private settings offering a range of 1 on 1 sound therapy sessions, group sound bath meditations & more.
Her profuse understanding and love of music combined with her extensive personal and professional history offers a unique, immersive experience where each session is curated to the energetic needs of each group, person and day.
When she’s not making music you can find her writing poetry by the Sea or hand crafting crystal jewellery. Maria is a multidisciplinary Artist seeking to provide spaces of comfort and light through her mediums.
Maria’s Favourite Quote:
“Water has a memory and carries within it our thoughts and prayers. As you yourself are water, no matter where you are, your prayers will be carried to the rest of the world.”

-
I would be air. I am a holder of space, can sometimes find myself floating or daydreaming and always lean towards lightness.
-
Outside of work you can find me visiting the Ocean or the Sea, making music, writing poetry and travelling to visit family.

One of my favourite things about my practice is that it requires little to no words. Sound and frequencies are a universal language that can be felt and experienced differently by everyone. Without even speaking, people can have experiences of transcendence, deep mental and physical restoration, visuals in meditation, pain/ anxiety relief and so much more.
Each session is an immersive and unique sound-scape experience that is shared only by those in the room.
